A dedicated outlet for EV charging
A new 240-volt, 50-amp receptacle was installed for plug-in EV charging. The crew routed the new cable to the electrical panel and verified the voltage at the finished outlet.
The charging connection
The requested work was a dedicated outlet for a plug-in EV charger. Rather than adding a receptacle to a nearby general-purpose circuit, the crew ran a new 240-volt, 50-amp connection from the selected outlet location back to the electrical panel.
How the circuit was routed
The field notes describe using an existing cable as a pull to route approximately 50 feet of new 6/3 cable through the attic to the panel. At the charging location, the crew cut in a two-gang box and installed the 50-amp receptacle with its finished cover. They completed the conductor and breaker connections at the panel.
Final electrical check
After energizing the new breaker, the crew measured the receptacle and recorded correct voltage. The finished outlet provided the dedicated connection requested for plug-in charging, with the wall location and electrical test documented in the work record.
