A kitchen outlet where the water dispenser needed it
A dedicated location for everyday use, without relying on an extension cord across the kitchen.
Why an outlet was added
The kitchen water dispenser needed a convenient place to plug in without an extension cord running across the room. The crew chose a spot below an existing switch box, close to where the dispenser would be used.
How the GFCI was installed
A single-gang box was cut into the wall, and 14/2 cable was run from the switch box to the new location. After making the connections, the crew installed a white GFCI receptacle and tested the completed outlet. The photograph shows the finished device with a plug-in tester.
Other work on the visit
The crew also restored a ceiling fan's light by matching the remote's DIP-switch settings to its receiver. Separately, they replaced a 15-amp dishwasher breaker that had been tripping.
