Tree and landscape lighting brought to life
The team installed fifteen tree fixtures, resolved a transformer-load issue, and brought the exterior lighting and sconce controls into operation.
Planning the tree lighting
The project began with a tree-lighting mock-up coordinated with the contractor. The crew placed the fixtures at the selected tree locations so the mounting and direction could be reviewed before the wider landscape-lighting system was finished.
Installing the fixtures
Fifteen light fixtures were mounted to the trees. At each location, the crew secured the bracket and fixture, checked the mounting, capped the wire ends, and neatly secured the extra wiring. A later visit connected the tree-light and ground-light whips and energized the system.
Bringing the lights online
The first combined tree-and-ground-light load tripped the transformer. As more landscape fixtures were added, the team installed a higher-output transformer to handle the load. The September field record then reported all exterior low-voltage lights working. The team also traced an exterior sconce switchleg and added a dimmer that could be controlled through the Lutron app.
The finished lighting phase
At a later evening visit, the crew completed lighting work inside and outside. The field record says the homeowner was pleased with the lights and that a return visit the following night was unnecessary. The accompanying photo captures the tree fixtures during installation; the operating result comes from the later project records.
