New smoke alarms, tested before handoff
A focused safety-device visit replaced three aging smoke alarms and added a plug-in carbon monoxide detector.
Why the visit mattered
The customer asked the crew to check the home's smoke alarms. Three existing units were outdated or approaching the end of their service life, so the crew recommended and completed replacements in those same locations.
What the crew installed
They replaced one hardwired smoke alarm with a new hardwired unit and the other two with new battery-powered alarms. They also installed the customer's plug-in carbon monoxide detector at the designated location.
Ready at the end of the visit
Before leaving, the crew checked that each new device was securely mounted and operating. The photo shows one of the finished ceiling smoke-alarm replacements; the field notes record the full set of devices installed and tested during the visit.
